Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (Eternal Love) Drama Review

Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms finished airing and it was an amazing show! I couldn't wait for the english subs to be completed and just watched the raw online on youtube. Although I couldn't understand what they were saying, I got the gist of it for the most part. But now I can go back to reality...ah (T-T). Here is my review of the drama!

Story: 8/10

There are already a lot of summaries written about the drama online and it's hassle for me to write my own because the truth is, the story is complicated and long. It starred Yang Mi, Mark Chao, Dilraba Dilmurat, Vengo Gao, Ken Chang, and lots of new/experienced actors and actresses. For a drama with 58 eps, I can only sum it up like this:
  • Love affairs between immortal beings
  • Lots of side characters/subplots
  • Mix between CGI, martial arts, & historical content
  • Spoiler (highlight for more): I learned that no one really dies

Here is the whole entire cast!

I also didn't forget to add the villains.

It's also based on a novel with the same name so you can find the English translations/summaries online if you want to know the plot in depth. To be honest, there were some characters and subplots that I could care less for since it didn't really matter to the entire story. If I could just have a few episodes with the main characters I think I would also be very happy with that.

Since it is not set in the mortal realm, don't expect it to have realistic sets or correct historical context/references. I still found it enjoyable to watch and thought that the drama made a good use of recycling the sets where it didn't seem familiar all the time. Overall, I thought that the drama did a great way at delivering a love story between immortals that transcend multiple lifetimes and bringing the fantasy world to life.

Character Development/Acting performances: 8/10

And the best hair award goes to....YE HUA!

Mark Chao plays two character, Mo Yuan and Ye Hua. I thought that the characters Mo Yuan/Ye Hua  was very similar in terms of their facial expressions and personalities, but Mark did a great job at making them different through settle expressions. And since we see more of Ye Hua's character, his character development can better seen throughout the show compared to Mo Yuan. Ye Hua basically learns how to love and protect his loved ones while Mo Yuan still has a lot of years to catch up and to learn haha.

I didn't know much about Mark Chao as an actor, but I will now keep track of his future upcoming projects. I thought that he delivered a great performance of the two characters. It's also ironic to see him laugh and be playful behind the scenes when his characters are always looking serious. And boy, can he cry and kiss lol.

Yang Mi plays Bai Qian Qian who undergo several identities and have different names. She is the queen of the female monarch in the Fox Clan and is basically, badass in the sense she ain't taking nobody's bullshit. Throughout the drama, it was nice to see how Qian Qian went through different stages of her life from acting out as a young fox, living as a mortal, and being a high goddess. I've long been a fan of Yang Mi since she starred in Chinese Paladin 3 and I'm glad to see her play as multiple characters with different personalities. My only complaint is that sometimes, she sometimes look stiff during the kiss scenes and I don't know if that is the result of her acting or the directing.

Notable characters:

Dilraba Dilmurat as Bai Fengjiu
(the cute red fox, niece of Bai Qian Qian)

Vengo Gao as Dong Hua

Visual: 10/10

This drama is so visually appealing that you could just stare at the faces of the actors/actresses and the background settings. It's a nice looking drama like Princess Weiyoung where you are constantly admiring the beauty of everything and everyone. All of the characters are so clean cut and perfect with their hair, make up, and clothes. So it is funny when viewers can point out what is out of place.

The Princess Weiyoung Review

So the Princess Weiyoung drama just ended not too long ago and boy, was it a dramatic journey from the beginning to the end. Here is my take on the drama as a whole!

Queen of the Year!!!

Story: 7/10

The background story summed up:

A princess from another state is seeking revenge for her family being murdered and takes on another identity from her enemy state. Goes into a household full of wives/daughters that the man of the house can't control or handle. Lots of catfights and mental battles between the ladies, lol.

Things get more complicated with the involvement with the princes and home girl has to decide what is more important for her: love or revenge?!

The only part that got dragged out longer than I'd wanted was Li Changru's obsession with Tuoba Jun. Why is that in every drama there's always some crazy girl who can't get over her first love? (Girl, you are wasting your beauty).

The story itself is pretty easy to follow along, there's just a lot of characters which is typical of historical Chinese dramas.

Character Development/Acting performances: 8/10

Tiffany Tang

Li Weiyoung (Tiffany Tang) as the main character of the drama is seen to have grown stronger and the most throughout the entire series. No surprise as she went through a lot of BS. I think that her performance was wonderful in displaying a variety of emotions.

Luo Jin

Tuoba Jun's (Luo Jin) growth doesn't really occur throughout much the drama. I find that his character remained relatively the same: infatuated with Li Weiyoung, righteous, and always trying to serve the people in good ways. Not saying it was a bad character, but not an amazing one either. Acting was also great and for the most part, I found his character enjoyable.

Vanness Wu

Tuoba Yu (Vanness Wu) is the male anti protagonist to Tuoba Jun. He basically remain cunning and smart throughout the drama. He wasn't the worst villain out there that I have seen. I'm surprised that they didn't write his character to be more cruel. Vanness Wu has been acting for a long time, but this is the first time that I have seen him act in a historical drama. His acting doesn't fail obviously and it's great to see him venture into something different.

Mao Xiaotong

Li Changru (Mao Xiaotong), my least favorite character of the drama. I don't dislike the actress (she's really pretty and did a great job), but the character suck a$$. No character development, just straight obsession and doing things to get what she wants. She doesn't learn or grow from it, just went crazier and crazier (there's growth in that department). Like all she ever did was obsess over Tuba Jun and literally didn't stop even when she got straight out rejected.

Visual: 10/10

The drama definitely took beautiful shots/scenes that made it seem more epic and magical. Maybe it was the awesome costumes, the amazing hairstyles, and the efforts placed into making everyone seem like they belong in that drama. Side comment: it is kind of disturbing to me that more and more actors/actresses look more plastic than natural.

Overall grading: B

My Favorite (& Recommended) Wuxia/Chinese Dramas! (Always Updating!!!)

I've always been a fan of Chinese dramas, especially more if they're historical. Why? The stories are better in general, there are so many beautiful costumes, and they usually have awesome bad ass characters! Yeah, they tend to have more eps, but many of them are worth the time to WATCH. Here are some of my favs in no particular order.

Sound of the Desert

We can just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the costumes are? I mean they have done a fantastic job at the character costumes. Who doesn't like these?! The production went far and beyond on how wonderful these costumes look.

Anyways, back to reality. This drama is based on a romance novel by Tong Hua and if you know about Wuxia dramas in depth, this author here is well known as many inspired movies and dramas are from his books. Obviously, the main cast are big stars like Hu Ge, Cecilia Lui, and Eddie Peng (all of them are experienced at wuxia dramas). The story is about Xin Yue (Cecilia Lui) who grew up in the desert with her wolf brothers and later, enters the big city Chang'an. During her stay, she gets to know two different man that eventually both are fighting for her affections. I mean the struggle is real here, Eddie Peng or Hu Ge? The depends on who you like more, but personally I'm glad she chose the one I like haha. It is a great story with aspects of political/war conflicts, romance, love triangle, and the struggles she goes through to protect the one she loves.

Legend of Condor Heroes (2008)

Ariel Lin and Hu Ge does a great...more like AMAZING jobs at portraying their roles.

Another inspired wuxia drama adapted from the novel with the same name by Louis Cha. It starred big actors and actresses like Hu Ge, Ariel Lin, Justin Yuan, and Cecilia Liu. In this series, Hu Ge plays Guo Jing, a man who isn't so smart, but have strong and loyal heart. Ariel Lin's character Huang Rong is intelligent and humorous that you'll love her character immediately. Their lives intertwine when Guo Jing meets Huang Rong and she teaches him about the different realities/hardships of life. The two leads share great chemistry together on screen and it's a drama you won't be disappointed watching. With a mix of martial arts, political conflicts, and funny love squares/triangles, this is a classic must watch for Wuxia drama fans.

Chinese Paladin

Liu Yifei is just so gorgeous in this drama!

An RPG inspired drama with the same name that is set in a fantasy and romance story. Big stars like Hu Ge, Liu Yifei, Andy An, Eddie Ping, and more participated in this drama. Hu Ge's character, Li Xiaoyao, goes on trip when he tries to find medicine for his aunt, but instead found the land of fairies that Lui Yifei's character, Zhao Ling'er, resides at. There, Li Xiaoyao, finds out that his trip will lead him to a quest to save the world. This drama focuses on the romance and fantasy part so if you like those two genres then it'll be an easy watch for you. Also, the cinematics and OSTs are beauitful! I feel in love with Hu Ge and Liu Yifei through this drama!

Chinese Paladin 3

The characters are well written and plus, the costumes are beautiful.

Okay, so the producers decided to skip season 2 because the story wasn't good enough? I will never know hahaha. It is based on the same RPG game so expect elements of fantasy, martial arts, and romance. Regardless, this drama won't disappoint you because it is different from Chinese Paladin. It is supposedly to be set a few decades before the Chinese Paladin and has another whole story of its own. It stars Hu Ge (I mean, you can never have too much Hu Ge in dramas/movies) alongside with other big stars like Wallace Huo, Yang Mi, Tiffany Tang, and Cecilia Liu. Hu Ge plays a bunch of different important roles while Yang Mi plays Tang Xuejian, the spoiled granddaughter of the Tang Manor. It is a humorous story that has a mixture of adventure with lots of characters with their own stories. My favorite couple besides the main lead is obviously Wallace Huo and Tiffany Tang because their love really had no limits. I won't spoil anything because if you had watched Chinese Paladin or want to see something similar to it then you''ll like this drama too!

Princess Weiyoung

Talk about wedding of the year!

Vanness Wu and his crazy braided hair...wondered how long that took.

Costumes, accessories, head pieces, you name it, are gorgeous in this drama!

Starring big names Tang (Tiffany) Yan, Luo Jin, Vanness Wu, and more (I honestly haven't seen much of the other actors/actresses)! This drama is a obviously going to be a historical/romance/palace/political drama. Basically to sum it up with its long 54 eps, there's identity impersonation, pentagon romance(?) between the main casts, and cat fights between the actresses for the love of their man. I honestly, kind of, skimmed through this drama because some parts was dragged out longer than I thought. Overall, a great drama with beautiful visuals and interesting story.

Other MUST WATCH recommendations:

  • General and I starring Angelababy & Wallace Chung (2017)
  • Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms starring Yang Mi & March Chao (2017)
  • Prince of Lan Ling starring Ariel Lin & Feng Shaofeng (2013)
  • Legend of Fuyao starring Yang Mi & Ethan Ruan (2018)

Recommended Animes/Mangas/Manhwa/Webtoons (Always updating!!!)

NOTE: I'm always going to update this page as I love finding out more awesome series and sharing them for others to check out. So make sure to come back for updates!

I love reading and watching animes/mangas/manhwa/webtoons. There are differences between them and the American comics/cartoons. Mangas are Japanese 'comics' and they're usually inked in black and white. Anime are Japan's 'cartoon' on screen and lot of animes derived from mangas/novels while some other animes have their own story. Manhwa is like Korea's comic, but they don't really have their own manhwa inspired cartoon shows, rather they're developed into live or inspired kdramas. Also, webtoon are like Korea's online manga that comes out weekly or depending on the authors. They are usually colored or are in black and white strips with a couple of long pages. Therefore, don't get confused!!!

So after reading and watching many of them, here is a list in random orders of my favorites so far! The reason why this list is a whole bunch of mix collections is because I don't have lots of favorites in each category.

1. Bride of the Water God (Fantasy/Manhwa/Romance/Beautful details/Gorgeous characters)
I love love love this manhwa! Omg, the art is beautiful in every single page! The storyline is great and inspired by a legend about the Water God. The main story is about this girl, Soah, who was chosen to be sacrificed to the Water God by her village to stop the drought in the human world. Later she meets the Water God and learned that she isn't dead, matter of fact she is living in another world. Instead of death, she became the Water God's bride and gets caught up in the battle between gods for power. The only hard part to understand is the huge amount of characters and relationships the characters share because there are a lot of people that you need to remember! I often find myself not knowing of who they are talking about and being lost. But I like how the main girl doesn't cry over little things all the time and her love with the main guy is mature. I never know what to expect because there a lot of possibilities and twists. So I'll be waiting for scans and spoilers! I'm crossing my fingers that the artist won't leave me disappointed.

2. Fairy Tail Manga/Anime (Fantasy/Magic/Humor/Friendship/Epic Magic Fight Scenes)
I watched the anime first and I fell in love with it! It's about the adventures that occurs in a magic guild called Fairy Tail. The majority of the story revolves around the main cast, Lucy (blonde), Nastu (pinkish-red hair), Happy (the blue cat), Gray (blackish-blue hair), and Erza (red). Although it can be repetitive some episodes, I was still impressed by the animation and interested in the storyline to keep watching the rest of 156 episodes plus the new episodes coming out each Friday! I've read parts of the manga to keep me updated and what to be expected. I think it's a great series about friendship (there are a lot of characters!), what family means, fighting for your loved ones and what's right, and about understanding that you are empowered by the people you love and care about. There's a little cheesy romantic scenes here and there. And omg, so many fan service scenes for the guys! I mean a lot of the female characters have huge breasts and you'll be seeing a lot of them. The amount of boob scenes overkilled my eyes, like their are a ton of scenes of just huge boobies, shower scenes, and exposure of bare skin! But anyways, I totally recommend people to give it a try because in my opinion, I don't think it's overrated.

3. Keishichou Tokuhanka 007 (Romance/Mystery/Humor/Hot Guys/Supernatural)
I'm not usually into mystery manga but this one is too good to not read! It's basically about how this girl with a supernatural power who works with the police department called 007, but mainly with an older (hot) guy who has a dark scar that he can't forget. Together as partners, they solve mystery/murder/supernatural cases. Cases are random and it's not repetitive because so many kinds of things happen. And there are many scenes that makes you want to squeal either in happiness or I can't believe this is happening! The art style is like bishounen style so if you don't like the long legged/beautiful characters than maybe you won't enjoy it as much. It's more rare to see female characters in mangas to be the stronger one, mentally, at least or save the guy, vice versa. So I believe it won't be disapppointing to read this manga because it's different from a typical shoujo manga.

4. Oh, My Romantic Kumiho (Fantasy/Manhwa/Hot Guys/Romance/Humanity)

A beauitful drawn manhwa that reference to kpop!!! OMG, it's a must read! I know I'm fangirling a bit here...It's about the love between a human girl and a human boy who is actually a 700 year old gumiho. You thought it was a typical young romance story? Wrong, kind of, maybe it is a bit cheesy, but so? It deals with accepting your loved one for who they really are literally. She has to decide to be with him or leave him because life ain't so easy after knowing the person you love isn't who they turned out to be. The gumiho society isn't all that pretty despite their perfect appearances and when every gumiho is out trying to eat your liver, I would be freaking out too. Don't worry though! Her almost perfect boyfriend is at her protection at all cost. But the real question here is, would she stay?! (I totally would. XD)

5. Samurai Deeper Kyo Manga/Anime(Action/Friendship/Adventure/Fan Service/Historical/Samurai/Epic Fighting)

Boy, did I get attached to this manga big time! I'm not a big fan of long, dragging series, but this one is an exception. It's about this medicine peddler who have another fiery soul in his body and he meets a young female bounty hunter who is looking for the murderer of her brother. Together, they travel parts of Japan and meet a lot of great and bad people! Things aren't as simple as it seems on the surface because a lot of the characters got secrets and baggage that their carrying/hiding. Each character has a different purpose and goals so you shouldn't be skimming this manga. What I love the most is that you'll get to understand both the allies and the enemies. There is a lot of great action scenes mixed with comedy and little hints of romance. And be aware of fan service because I saw a lot of things that I didn't need to, but I'm guessing it's part of the humor. The anime wasn't as well done and I watched and finished it with a feeling of being unsatisfied. So read the manga! It's a great series that won't leave you bored. But the anime can be skipped.

6. Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen (Fictional/Historical/Romance/Wars/People Rage/Action/Royals)
This manga is so-so cute and I love the couple! It's about a treaty marriage between a prince and a princess of two different country that occurs in order to settle the long waged war/battles between them. With their own differences and perspective, this troubled couple have to act like they love each other in public. Even though it should just be all an act, political threats and outside enemies bring them together through their struggles. This manga goes beyond the typical marriage set up in my perspective because it discusses real politic issues (metaphorically) such as different political goals and the corrupted society. Really good storyline, fun and cute drawing styles, and it will leave you wanting to read more and more! Totally recommended for readers who are a fan of shoujo mangas.

7. Biyaku Cafe (Romance/Rated M/Humor/Gorgeous people/Cafe/Butlers/Multi-Stories)
You like seeing hot a$$ guys/girls with their gorgeous bishounen faces and bodies? Or maybe romantic stories in a cafe setting? Well, then you are in for a special one because this manga is hot hot hot! There are different romance stories dedicated to different characters, but it starts out and is mainly about the two main characters on the cover art to the left. Yeh, I'm not going to lie it's a bit rated mature for some smexy scenes so don't be surprised (it isn't anything crazy though). And no, it's not yaoi; the main girl just look very a like a hot guy and her lover is totally fine and crazy over her. I don't want to say much or spoil anything because you got to read it, girlfriend! Just know that love is in the air and people have different ways of expressing it. I guarantee that you may not like all, but most some of the stories that happens in this mysterious cafe.

8. Absolute Witch (Manhwa/Adventure/Magic/Humor/Period/Romance/Fantasy/European influences)
I can't get enough of fantasy and magical genres! They're epic, literally, and offer us new worlds! I absolutely love this story for it's art, storyline, and you don't find many manhwas like this one! It focuses on a young girl who doesn't know (yet) that she's a witch by birth. Along on her traveling, she meets a beautiful and mysterious alchemist who also hold magical powers. Together, they embark on a journey to help her control her new powerful magic. It isn't easy trying to keep her secret identity and maybe there are others as well? But the funny thing is that all the witches left the human world a long time ago. Why exactly?! (You're going to have to read for that answer! Muahahaha!) With the return of a witch, beings in hiding that are unknown to humans are coming back out to the world such as fairies! But there are other people who are not so happy hearing the return of the witches. Luckily, she has herself and a man to protect her from unknown danger. No one should skip this manhwa because witches are awesomely-fantastic!

9. Cherry Boy, That Girl (Romance/High School/Comedy/Friendship/Love triangles)
This is a Korean webtoon and it has elements of comedy, romance, high school, and love triangles. It is basically about the main girl who has lost a lot of weight and how her love story progress after transferring to a school that just turned from all boys to coed. Her boyfriend is pretty hot, but what lies behind his pretty fast has a dark history. Along with that, she meets new people who help her realize many good and bad things about her relationship with her boyfriend. You actually get to see how the characters change and development through their daily interactions. (SPOILER) Well, I am not a big fan when the heroine is stuck between to potential lovers, but this is an exception for me. I feel like she is strong enough to make her own choices and realize what she wants. And I am cheering for the second lead guy because OH MAN, he is a lot better in my opinion.

10. Yukarism (Romance/Historical/High School/Fantasy)
This manga deserves more recognition, I mean it is a great story. It's about a guy who was born in modern day Japan with his previous life's memories intact. He becomes a famous novelist through his recollections of historical Japan and discovers that he is able to travel back in time. But the catch is that his previous life was being a famous and popular geisha. As he tries to recollect his previous life memories, he discover that his previous life may have an influence in his present life. A MUST read for anyone who likes romance/historical/fantasy genres. It is a funny and very beautiful manga to read.

11. Horimiya (High School/Romance/Slice of Life/Comedy)
This is a very popular manga and I think it is worth the hype!!! It's about the relationship that is gradually built upon a socially awkward guy and a hard working girl. They learn about each other that there is definitely a lot more about each other than what they appear to look like. The author does a great job at putting comedy in their daily lives. Also, I like how it shows the challenges that teenagers go through while trying to maintain a balance life between school, relationships, and love. It is a funny and WORTH-A-WHILE manga to read.

12. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun a.k.a My Little Monster (Friendship/Romance/Slice of Life/Comedy/High School)
OHHHhh this one is so cute and is one of my cult favorites!!! The heroine is a study bug and focuses her time on excelling at academics. One day, her teacher asks her to go meet up with a guy whose been known to been skipping school and has a fairly bad reputation. Of course, things don't start out pretty, but she learns that he is just a socially awkward, introverted person. They develop a relationship and with that, make more friends as they start to change too. The anime and manga is both great and the slice of life is not drastically boring or dragged on; I say watch and read BOTH!!! There isn't much that I can complain about this series, but like it ahaha.

13. Noragami (High school/Fantasy/Japanese Gods/Action/Comedy/Romance)
Love love love this manga & the anime is done very well (I recommend both)! It's centered on three main characters, Hiyori, the half alive-half spirit human girl, Yukine, a wandering spirit, and Yato, the god of calamity. It follows their adventure to fight off evil and to help Yato, who seems to be having troubles with his dark past. Things become more complicated when they become involved with other gods. The world of the Gods is filled with secrets and there are unknown enemies lurking close by! It is a mixed of high school life, LOL comedy (the TROLL moments & expressions are the best), hints of romance, and great character developments! Check it out! Btw, the cover art for the first season lacks interest so don't judge it by its cover art. It is a decent and easy to watch anime.

Tokyo Ghoul anime

Tokyo Ghoul:re (2nd season manga)

14. Tokyo Ghoul & Tokyo Ghoul:re (Lots of BLOOD/Action/Psychological/High school/Friendships/Bromance)
What is ghoul? They are not zombies but are human flesh eaters and have incredible powers. It makes them on top of the food chain but it doesn't necessarily mean they dominate the world or live a happy life. The main character, Kaneki, gets thrown into this world unexpectedly and has to deal with dangerous enemies of both ghouls and humans. It is not an easy task when he is trying to protect the ones he cherishes. I recommend watching the anime first because the manga can get kind of hard to get into since it drags on longer (although the art is fantastic). The anime gets to the point and it won't bore you with the great action scenes and fast pacing. This is definitely a more mature and serious anime to watch so be prepared! It is not a slice of life/easy going type of anime. SPOILER: Kaneki can go in the "DID NOTHING WRONG SQUAD" because he doesn't need to do anything to get f**k up, literally...Also, bromance in this series is some next level sh*t.

Asian Dramas' Logic 101

Welcome to class! Today's subject is about the logics that are used in Asian dramas! These factors are so common and often used that they have become the essential part of Asian dramas. Some are really annoying while some are hilarious ridiculous. So be open-minded that they are after all, fictional dramas. (And that it's from my perspective. Thanks!)

1. I'm the main female lead and I'm always poor. Like always.

Boys Over Flowers -  Asian dramas' logic 101: Poor girls are
always average looking, cheery, delightful, and strong characters.
They're never materlistic or a money hungry person. A true angel by heart.

Something I don't quite understand why Asian dramas always make the main female lead poor? Why Asia?! I've barely see any kdramas where it's the opposite way. Why can't female leads be smart, rich, or even a CEO of a company? My guess is that the Asian society/audience would rather watch and prefer a drama that have approachable female characters who aren't materialistic. But poor, really? I'm sure there are better ways to protray female characters on screen. Tired of this Cinderella story being reused in kdramas.

Cinderella set up: Heirs, Secert Garden, Princess Hours
Independent women lead: Protect the Boss, Princess Prosecutor, Take Care of the Young Lady, Dignity of a Gentleman

2. Did I forget my past? Oh no wait, it came back.

Stairway to Heaven - Asian dramas' logic 101: Memory
loss is a must to prove that love goes beyond the mind.

Memory loss is just temporary and a great excuse to start over again.  Ohh, Asian dramas just love messing with people's memories. I don't like this unless there is actually a health reason. But the majority of the time, memory loss in kdrama makes it unromantic and super cheesy. Asian drama writers needs to come up with a better plot twist then making someone forget his/her past. It is over used and tiring to watch people make weird faces as they try to reconnect their past memories.

Memory loss: Secret Garden, Boys Over Flowers, Stairway to Heaven, Innocent Man, Couple or Trouble, Winter Sonata

3. If you take off your glasses, it'll instantly make you look 10x prettier. (0-0) = ugly?

Fated To Love You - Asian dramas' logic 101: If you take off your glasses,
you'll end up looking like a much better version of yourself.

This one is something that occurs in all kinds of dramas from Korea, China, and all the above. I don't see how taking off your glasses makes you look better. Sometimes, people look better with glasses, you know? Besides, what's wrong with a nerdy/smart/quirky looking man/woman? Asian dramas need to keep their characters with glasses on.

Glasses characters: Fated To Love You (both Chinese and Korean ver.), Hi My Sweetheart (Tawainese)

4. Accidents are happening everywhere in Asia to the point it's hitting the actors/actresses! OMG...(-_-)

Shut Up Flower Boy Band Asian dramas' logic 101:
Random cars always hits hot
people all the time, ya' know. Expect it.

How annoying is that in a lot of Asian dramas the main guy/girl always getting hit by a freaking car/truck. I'm sure there are better ideas to get them into accidents besides getting hit by a fast running vehicle. Do people in Asian dramas not understand the concept of waiting for your turn to walk? Even if you're overly emotionally, you just don't go running towards cars! Hello-er! Please, drama writers, will ya put some sense into your characters? Stop getting them into accidents.

Horriable car accident in kdrama: Shut Up Flower Boy Band, Boys Over Flowers, Stairway to Heaven

5. Guys forcfully grabs girls' wrists vice versa. WHaAaaa-? (0-o)

Secert Garden Asian dramas' logic 101: Okay, so is this necessary?
Yes, it is because that's the only way to do things.

Okay, this one makes me want to laugh because it's hilaious how the women/men just follows as they're being dragged by the wrist. Do people even do this? (I doubt that.) But any woman/man who lets a man/woman do that to her/him should give her/him a big fat slap. Ain't nobody just going to walk along if you grab their wrist like that. I mean, there are other ways to handle it.

man-forcefully-grab-woman's-wrist: Secert Garden, Boys Over Flower, Heirs

6. Nice guys do really finish last...at least in Asian dramas.

To the Beautiful You - Asian dramas' logic 101:
Friend zone (to the max) are for the caring and nice guys.

According to Asian dramas, women only likes "cold, ignorrant guy but soft-hearted inside who treat them like crap at first then later opens up and shows romanctic affections but still maintain his manliness"? As if such horrible guy would even get a girl unless of course, he's super rich. But hey, if you're too nice in a Asian drama, you're automatically FRIEND ZONE. So make sure you act like a total jerk because women loves that.

Friend zoned guys: Boys Over Flower, You Are Beautiful, Princess Hours, To the Beautiful You

7. Woman can be disguised as guys or at least look convincing.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal - Asian dramas' logic 101: I look like a total girl,
but when I'm dressed like this everyone knows/thinks that I am a guy. Can you guess which one is the female lead?

I do like it when female characters get to act like men, but some of the Asian dramas I've seen so far the female characters do not look like a man at all, period. Some female actresses may look and do well with it, but other actresses have feminine features that makes it obivously quite clear that they're females. So when I watch it, I'm like 'yep, that's a girl dressed as a boy'. I do think that Go Eun Chan in 1st Shop of Coffe Prince would've past by as truly looking like a man.
Obiviously a girl: To the Beautiful You, You Are Beautiful, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Painter of the Wind, Goddess of Fire

8. We are in a relationship, but we might be related. So heartbroken...

Autumn in My Heart - Asian dramas' logic 101:
So we may be related, but not by blood. No one
is ever 100% quite sure or refer to a DNA BLOOD TEST.

Believe it or not, Asian dramas likes to use the excuse of a sibling/half-sibling/step-sibling excuse to test the relationship between the main characters. The writers just love having us being disgusted, confused, yet have pitied for the characters in their forbidden love. But like it is getting old because we have awesome health technology nowadays that can easily avoid this misfortune. Just get a DNA testing instead of going through all the drama.

9. If you don't have cancer, you'll get sick somehow. Or possibly die of a unknown disease. Or you could lose your vision entirely.

That Winter the Wind Blows - Asian dramas' logic 101:
I may have cancer or be blind or have an illness or all,
but I'll always managed to fall in love with a
handsome/pretty person that I couldn't possibly be with.

Why do Asian dramas like to make their characters die/sick? It's for either to make us drown in tears or have feelings of WTF. Is cancer the only cause of death in Asian dramas? If not, why are people always getting blind? Not just that, why do people always get sick after being in the rain? Apparently, Asian dramas are limited to these health related issues. I will be waiting for one day that a common cold/sickness can be cured with over the counter meds in Asian dramas.
Asian dramas' diseases: Stairway to Heaven, Autumn in My Heart, To the Beautiful You, Sad Love Song, Scent of Woman, A Thousand Day Promise, That Winter the Wind Blows, Winter Sonata
10. People in Asian dramas rarely rely on the polices.

I Miss You - Asian dramas' logic 101: Leave it up to one man to
do everything. Even working at the police department doesn't
guarantee your own safety.

Polices/security people are totally useless in Asian dramas. It's because they can't come on time like EVER or find the true criminals! Sometimes, they're even bribed by rich people and society is corrupted that could lead the polices to be the bad guys; therefore, it is up to the main casts or one main character to fight for justice. So don't be surprised if the police are there, but not really doing their job or moving the plot forward.

Corrupted and useless polices: Hong Gil Dong, Capital Scandal, I Miss You

11. You are my first love and it means we are meant to be together by fate.

The Moon that Embraces the Sun - Asian dramas' logic 101:
Even though we barely hit puberty,
we know that we're meant to be.

Asian dramas love using first love between the main characters to make it seem like they've known each other forever. First they meet, share memories together, and then somehow are seperated that ends up in them having a reunion. It's nice to know they have history together, but it is kind of overused. I prefer watching younger versions of the characters and not little kids playing together. Kids don't understand romantic affections and are often associated with "I like you" not "love". Also, having a younger version of a character instead of a kid version makes more sense in terms of remembering the importance of their relationship.

First love editions: I Miss You, The Moon that Embraces the Sun, Autumn in My Heart, Stairway to Heaven

12. People love to go study abroad in the U.S. and Europe, exclusively...if not some other Western country.

Flower Boy Ramyum Shop - Asian dramas' logic 101:
Yes, I've done it. I've went to America and seen the
Western world.

If people in Asian dramas could go anywhere in the world and live there for a while, it's obivously not somwhere in Asia, South America, Africa, or the Carribeans, etc. It's funny when they return 'smarter and richer' after being abroad.  I mean come on, these 'Western' places are great but that's all I've ever seen in Asian dramas. Overused, overrated, and there are other great places.
